So we were very lucky that we decided to check out this campground, it is absolutely gorgeous! There was not a single other camper here so we got a nice level spot with power. It was a bit cold, got down to 15, there was some leftover snow in some spots but nothing that was a problem.

The rates are dirt cheap, but the park is worth many times more. I came in without a reservation and found a huge pull-through campsite on the hill, with a clear view of the lake (it is indeed blue). There was a deep and broad terrace for picnic table and tent, and some pines for shade. It was a little windy when I visited, but not uncomfortably so. It was dark and quiet at night, and I slept well.

Such devices can only be used in an area that is barren or cleared of all overhead and surrounding flammable materials within three (3) feet of the device. Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park includes 4,650 acres of beautiful forest and open land. The 40-acre old-growth redwood grove is a 5 minute drive or a short hike from the campground. You may also be interested in Red Rock Park or Coal Mine Campground. Gallo campground is also in the area – about 75 miles to the north. And Canyon De Chelly is a great place to visit and camp if heading over to Northern Arizona.

Multiple bathrooms, ramadas, and picnic areas support day use activities. Bluewater Lake State Park was established in 1955. Bluewater and Cottonwood Creeks feed the lake.

A few trails and a nice family atmosphere. Unfortunately lake was choked with algae (seasonal) so I didn’t swim. Nice host greeted us and explained where the best sites were for our very large 5th Wheel. The sites with power were already taken, but we can boondock and the pull-through sites were great. Lovely view of the lake with a gorgeous sunset.

First come, first served and we arrived before noon, but no electric sites were available. Views of lake and surrounding juniper covered mesas was good. Early in morning horses grazed right through our campsite. Bluewater Lake State Park Campground, near Prewitt, New Mexico, is a fantastic spot for those looking to enjoy the great outdoors with a stunning lake view.

For specific directions or current road conditions, it’s advisable to check with the New Mexico State Parks department before your journey. $10 for non reserved, or $8 for on the shore. Large sites, some reserved sites have electricity. Douthat State Park has a total of 87 single family campsites and some have wonderful views of Douthat Lake. The Park also has 35 cabins and lodges for rent.

There aren’t many electric sites if that’s important to you and some say they’re no level. The bathroom nearest my campsite was a vault toilet, but a clean one. Real bathrooms are available at the visitor center, a long walk north of my tent. Beverly Beach State Park is in forest-sheltered area right on the Oregon coast and is a very popular campground featuring a beautiful trail to and along miles of sandy beach. Devils Fork State Park campground is along the shore of Lake Jocassee. The area allows visitors on boats to drive to remote islands and see sites of waterfalls splitting into two lakes.

For Campers

Pit toilets, no drinking water available except at maybe the RV sites with hookups and at the pump outstation? Wild horses & jack rabbits present. We dispersed & parked our truck camper right on the shoreline for $8. The hook up sites over looked the water (paved pad, pavilion, fire ring, 30&50 amp electric) bathrooms, showers, dump station.Boat ramp. Nice Pike and Muskie for the anglers.

No camp fires were to be had but those were going every night. So if you want to camp at a place that is a free for all environment and party all night without regard to anyone else and where rules are not enforced then Bluewater NM is for you. Uncrowded when we were there State park located right on a man-made lake. Unfortunately, the lake level is extremely low! Decent sites each with picnic table and fire pit some with shade canopies others with a little natural tree cover, not a lot of privacy.

Last night something was bugging the dogs so I looked outside to see a herd of wild horses grazing next to our camper! There are lots vegas casino apk of good hiking trails. The water is still on here and the dump stations are open if needed.

It was my first visit to New Mexico and for sure I will be back! The lake is large and has fishing. Vault toilets are very clean as well. Some well shaded with juniper and pinion trees. Campground amenities include drinking water, restrooms with water, vault toilets, showers and a dump station. There’s also a boat ramp, boat dock, 2 group picnic shelters, playground and visitor center.
